No snow for SNS on 2/28/10

March 1, 2010

Terry reports that seven students enjoyed curry soup and chicken pot pie! Yum!

Bob reports that conversations were lots of fun and folk got better acquainted than ever.

When Bob drove in his driveway he noticed a cell phone with a blinking light in the back seat.  Then it started ringing.  Very shortly he was driving back to campus to take the phone to the student who left it in his car.

Suppers on and we wish we were there

February 27, 2010

The gang is feeding Drake students tomorrow night at 6:00 P.M. and it’s at our humble abode.

We will miss the food, of course, but the fellowship/hanging out with the young, energetic card-playing bunch is what we miss most.

We plan to leave NM on next Saturday and head to Mama Max’s.  She’s been a sick girl for several weeks.  The plan is for her to stay in the acute-care facility this week.  We may need to help sister care for her a week or longer.

Thanks for your prayer for Mama Max.

The only snow storm that didn’t show up!

February 24, 2010

Sunday Night Supper was scheduled on February 21, but the weather report scared us off.

It’s a good lesson tha we can never outguess the weather.  Also the weather forecasts

are not always correct.  In the old days we were used to them being wrong, but their

new radar, etc. has made them right most of the time.  Not this time!

Plan on SNS for Sunday, February 28.  Bob will send out an email message about supper..

Last week there were 30 students for SNS.

One had wanted to attend and finally made it.

One wanted to know why we did such an event

in a private home.

Tonight our gracious friends are serving several
